We spend much of our lives seeing without really observing. As a Plein Air Artist, when I paint, it is always about the light. You must work fast to capture the fleeting magic of light and shadow. You must really look to see what the light has done to change the color.
I paint in oil and watercolor; each has its limitations and advantages. I am inspired by the rural landscape and how atmosphere, light and shadow change it and create new mysteries in what is around us everyday. It is the artist who sees the magic and paints it.
